Decks, Patios & Pergolas in Concord, NC

Keep the useful idea, not necessarily the old layout

If a Concord outdoor project begins with an existing deck, separate two questions: whether the structure is suitable for reuse, and whether the layout still serves your household. An attractive new surface does not answer the first question, and rebuilding the same shape does not automatically answer the second.

Outdoor services to consider

Decks

Discuss a replacement or new deck with the stairs, landing and furniture arrangement reconsidered. Existing framing and supports need an assessment before reuse can be proposed.

Patios

A patio may provide a ground-level alternative or complement to the deck. Explore the relationship to the door, yard and other outdoor surfaces during the property visit.

Pergolas

A pergola can add definition to a new gathering area. Do not assume an existing deck can support an added structure simply because the footprint appears to fit.

Screen rooms

A screened room should be considered as a complete project with its own layout and structural questions. The assessment must address the actual conditions, not only the desired appearance.

Prepare for the assessment

Tell us what is currently there, what you know about its history and which parts of the layout frustrate you. Photos from the ground and the deck surface can help introduce the project, but they do not replace the visit.

Can we move the stairs in a replacement project?

A different arrangement can be discussed, subject to the property and applicable project requirements.

Does a worn-looking deck always need complete replacement?

Appearance alone does not establish the scope. We need to assess the existing conditions before discussing what can be retained.
